About
The Sandringham to Brighton Community Pathway is a vision to reimagine the unused 5-6km corridor of land reserved for a freeway through the suburbs of Sandringham, Dolls Point, Sans Souci, Ramsgate, Monterey, Kogarah, Rockdale and Brighton Le Sands into a walking track and bike path that can be enjoyed by the Bayside community.
It will link to the Woolooware Bay Shared Pathway to the south, the Cooks River Cycleway to the north, and the Inner West Greenway.
This land corridor has been set aside since the 1950’s for a freeway, and the NSW Government has now determined that it cannot be used for this purpose, and if the road is built, it will be as a tunnel.
This is a historic opportunity to reimagine this green corridor into an asset linking the community and creating a space for families, kids, retirees, walkers and lovers of nature and open space.
